My Take On Blogging: It’s Not About You

Blogging

Dear friends,

The other day I was curious to know, how many blogs are on the Internet right now.

The answer is amazing: turns out “a new blog is created somewhere in the world every half a second. There are 3600 seconds in one hour and there are 24 hours in a day.”** You do the math.

The big number: there are approximately 152,000,000 blogs on the Internet as we speak.

Wow! That’s a whole universe of words right there, waiting to be discovered. And now, before you start feeling the heaviness of this number, I’ll give you what I think of that: the world needs blogs more than we think. And not for the pecuniary reasons. Nor for the ego trip.

Our world as it is now, is in deep need of communication; we’re more lonely than ever.

In the age of consumerism, of parallel lives created via social media, we are all trying to find a place of our own. A place to catch our breath, to recover and to recapture a glimpse of who we really are.

We are in constant search to be inspired by a picture, by a word someone said or by an experience someone shared. And by finding that, we suddenly stop feeling lonely.

Blogging is about connection.

You get up in the morning, write a post, edit it, add pictures to it, do more editing, then you press publish. Bam! Your words are out there.

Your words come alive once you let them out and they find their way through this big black hole called, the Internet. Next thing you know, they show up in someone else’s life across the country or across the world and change it. Hopefully, for the better.

Words are energy. And energy seeks energy. Words have a life of their own.

We will never fully understand the power of our spoken and written words. It is beyond what we can imagine!

Our words may be filling the cracks and gaps in someone’s life, without us even knowing it.

I have readers writing me emails and confessing that I inspire them. Some people tell me, that a certain thing I wrote on my blog, triggered something in them that was so beautiful & profound that they just had to write me an email and thank me. That’s overwhelming right there! Did I see it coming? No! Did it happen? Yes, and not just once!

Once you press “publish” you also press an invisible “share” button.

You share pieces of yourself with others, once you decide to release those words from your heart and give them wings to fly in the blogosphere. That’s why it isn’t just about you, it’s about others too.

What you give out to the world has a direct impact on other people’s lives too.

It’s a matrix, really! Remember: words equal energy. Energy chases & attracts similar energy.

So, you see? It’s not just about you. It’s about serving a higher purpose.

In the grand orchestra of life, each and every one of us has a part to play.
The “music” wouldn’t be the same if one of us wouldn’t do his part.

So, if blogging is something you feel you should be doing, then please do that! Don’t waste your time thinking about the reasons you shouldn’t do it; instead, focus on all the good reasons why you should do it!

Looking forward to reading your blog,
