Postcard from Istanbul: Welcome Home

Heart to Heart / Random Thoughts

Dear friends,

Wait! Wait for me! Phew, I know I’m late, but still…here I am!
How are you today? I am back, back from Istanbul, back from what was one humanly-perfect spring holiday.

I am still mentally unpacking and rewinding the past few days I spent in one of the most beautiful cities of the world. I am touched beyond words by this experience and not because something incredible happened while we were there, but because I never felt so good, so at home and so “me” anywhere else.

Istanbul was for my 32-years old self a place where I felt like coming home.

I found myself everywhere I went: from the narrow streets of the Old Town, to the variety of music & art shops around the Galata Tower, from the time-forgotten cafes to all the long walks along the Bosphorus.

It’s a feeling I can barely describe: a mixture of peacefulness, familiarity, freedom and sweet nostalgia. It’s impressive what a city can do to you and how easy you can find pieces of yourself in the most unexpected places.

Thank you, Istanbul! My heart is still there with you!

How about you, dear friends? Have you ever been to Istanbul? How did you like it? And also, is there a city in this world where you totally felt like home? Do share it with me in the comment section below.

Wishing you a great afternoon,
Bianca Zen 2
